Commitment to accessibility

Terra i Foc is committed to making its website accessible to all people, regardless of their abilities or limitations, in accordance with Law 9/2017 on accessibility of Catalonia and Royal Decree 1112/2018 on accessibility of websites and mobile applications.

Conformance level

This website has been designed following the WCAG 2.1 (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) standards of the W3C, with the aim of achieving level AA conformance.

Implemented measures

  • Skip link: “Skip to content” to bypass navigation and go directly to main content.
  • Keyboard navigation: all functions are accessible via keyboard (Tab, Enter, Escape).
  • Visible focus: focus is clearly shown with a red outline around active elements.

Content

  • Semantic structure: correct use of HTML tags (header, nav, main, footer, section).
  • Logical headings: coherent hierarchy (H1, H2, H3) to facilitate navigation with screen readers.
  • Alternative text: all images have descriptive alt attributes.
  • Declared language: lang attribute identifies the page language.

Design and contrast

  • Font: Jost, with a base size of 17px to facilitate reading.
  • Color contrast: color palette designed to meet WCAG AA contrast ratios (minimum 4.5:1 for normal text).
  • Responsive: the site adapts to all devices (mobile, tablet, desktop).

Form

  • Associated labels: each field has its label linked via for.
  • Accessible validation: errors and states are communicated via aria-live for screen readers.
  • Keyboard navigation: logical tab order.

Multimedia

  • Embedded videos: YouTube videos of the workshop include subtitles when available.
  • Accessible controls: gallery/lightbox buttons are keyboard-operable and have descriptive aria-labels.

Animations

The site respects the prefers-reduced-motion preference of the user’s operating system. If the user has motion reduction enabled, scroll-reveal animations are disabled.

Areas for improvement

Terra i Foc continuously works to improve its website accessibility. Some areas under review:

  • Complete contrast audit on secondary components.
  • Expansion of subtitles and transcripts for videos.
  • Review of reading order with screen readers (NVDA, VoiceOver).
